Ahhh, I can't help but love Stevie Nicks, and it is always good to read a new interview with her. This one is fun- I just wish it was longer. I've been meaning to do a post about her for awhile, but that will have to wait till I am on my laptop where I have around a thousand images of her saved.

Bees, Me & Bill Gibb
Sometimes Ebay just throws the best stuff at you- I try not to look but I get those email updates about some of my favourite searches, and today I as sent one for a Bill Gibb bee dress (exactly like this one but in black) that was ending in four hours. I ended up getting it pretty cheap (way, way, way cheaper than the one on that vintage site) so I am incredibly excited. I'm not supposed to be shopping but I love this dress and am so excited to add it to my collection.

Goth Perfection

Tore out this photo from a Grazie last Fall and have been completely obsessed with this dress since then, but when I tore it out I forgot to tear out the opposite page so have had no idea who it was by. Today I was looking through some random fashion blogs I'd never seen before and found the whole editorial. It's a Maxmara lurex gown with knitted shoulders and it was £2000- I guess perfection comes at quite a price.

Ossie and Me
For the last two weeks I've been feeling really rather depressed and apathetic, and I've been completely unable to put my finger on why- there didn't seem to be any particular reason why I would be feeling this way, but it definitely affected my desire to write anything on here. Today I started to feel better and I suddenly realized what had been affecting me so much- a few weeks ago I had been looking up something in the Ossie Clark's Diaries and had decided to re-read it. Every day as I took the train to and from work I would read a little bit, and while the first few years are great fun to read as time goes by his depression and the downward spiral of his life can become quite hard to deal with. I've always been a little too empathetic (blame my Pisces moon), but this was the first time I've noticed that a book has had such a negative effect on my own life. It just makes me so unbelievably sad that someone so amazingly talented could fall apart so completely.
I would seriously die to have either of these dresses that Gala is wearing- they would be perfect additions to my collection.

Lay me down in your rose garden

Anyone in New York know of an amazing tailor? I had one who did such wonderful work two blocks away from my apartment, but she moved down to North Carolina at Christmas so since then I have had no luck in finding a good one. I'm hoping to take a more advanced sewing class this summer so that I can do my own alterations, but until then I need to find someone who will do do good work, without any fuckups- otherwise I have half a wardrobe full of clothes I can't wear, which is no fun.
Sorry for not posting all this week- I've had lots of ideas for posts but no time to write them up. Hopefully I will have more time over the next few days.
All of these photos are from Bebe's new ad campaign- a store I've never even walked into, but I can't help being attracted to the rosy prettiness of these pictures. It has been such a long and hard winter that I have had to content myself with dreaming of spring flowers and dresses.

Hounds of Hell
For some reason or other I've been having the worst time ever sleeping for the last week- waking up, my mind racing, incredibly early and totally unable to fall back asleep. After lying in bed for two hours this morning, I finally gave in and got up. Did this silly little quiz thing that Liz at Vintage-a-Peel did the other day- just trying to waste a little time before getting ready for work. Hopefully I will start sleeping better tomorrow- otherwise you will see a lot more of these kinda things!
1. Put your music player on shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. YOU MUST WRITE THAT SONG NAME DOWN NO MATTER HOW SILLY IT SOUNDS!!!
IF SOMEONE SAYS “IS THIS OKAY” YOU SAY?
"Running Dry" - Neil Young & Crazy Horse
WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?
"Take My Hand, Precious Lord" - Elvis Presley
(Not really sure what that is trying to say!)
WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A BOY/GIRL?
"I see a Darkness"- Johnny Cash
(How true!)
HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?
"Black no. 1"- Type O Negative
(Favourite song of all time!)
WHAT IS YOUR LIFE’S PURPOSE?
"Damaged Goods" - Gang of Four
(Oh dear!)
WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
"Oh well"- Fleetwood Mac
(I say that all the time! Haha)
WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?
"White Riot"- The Clash
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR PARENTS?
"Right on Time" - E.F. Band
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?
"Ill of the Dead"- Dead Moon
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
"Sleepin' Around"- Sonic Youth
(I think not!)
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BESTIE?
"When she was wrong"- Kris Kristofferson
WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"Doin' the best I can"- Elvis Presley
WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
"Tennessee Waltz"- Per Elvis & His Rockers
WHAT SONG WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
"Vixen"- The Fall
(Good song but hardly easy to dance to)
WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
"Call me Irresponsible"- Bobby Darin
(Amazing!)
WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?
"Burning Love"- Elvis Presley
(Love this!)
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?
"Will the Circle be Unbroken"- The Carter Family
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST SECRET?
"The Soul Controller"- Ghostface Killah
WHAT SONG WILL BE THE SUBJECT WHEN YOU REPOST?
"Hounds of Hell"- Venom/elvis%20presley/elvis%20presley1a.jpg)
Lots of Elvis (and even a Norwegian Elvis clone!), but surprisingly little metal and bizarrely no Stevie Nicks or Hank Williams.

Nina Ricci Fall 2009

Oh my Lord! Olivier has outdone himself! It's too bad he couldn't save his job as this is by far the most beautiful collection from Paris thus far. Those platforms are such an amazing piece of engineering- I can't even imagine how one would walk in them.

Eddie Borgo Jewellery
I modeled some of my good friend, Eddie Borgo's, jewellery for a little Vogue.com story last weekend. They put up the story here, so you can check it out (I'm not enamoured with the photo but I guess it is alright). These are some pieces of his he designed for Jen Kao's Fall 2009 collection- this necklace is my favourite piece of his I've seen thus far. He's a really amazing jewellery designer so keep an eye out for his work.

Bees & Bill Gibb

If I had spare $800 lying around I would definitely consider buying this gorgeous Bill Gibb. I saw it when I went to the Bill Gibb show at the Fashion & Textile Museum at Christmas, and my mother and I were both marveling over what a beautifully cut dress it was. It's a true piece of fashion history- an iconic Gibb cut with his trademark bees.
Meadow Home

I saw this house on a few blogs and I think it is just so beautiful. I've seen cavelike houses with meadows above but I think this is a really gorgeous example. Built by Hiroshi Nakamura in Chiba last year it is a really wonderful house- I wish I could live there...
