Amazing cowled velvet Balenciaga gown from 1952. Photographed by Frances McLaughlin-Gill at Versailles. The colour and cut are just superb- deceptively simple draping on the bodice creates a flattering silhouette that shows off the model's enviable small waist with the addition of pink satin sash.
